London startup
Lowdownapp under the threat of a lawsuit from
Nokia for using the word
'HERE' in an advertising campaign.
Mobile personal assistant
Lowdownapp was severely criticized by
Nokia for its name of the geolocation service
'HERE' , which allegedly conflicts with
Nokia maps and tracker
HERE .
The Finnish company gave startups time until February 10th for rebranding.')
Nokia’s letter to
Lowdownapp : “You are using the
'HERE' sign illegally, and therefore your actions can mislead users who may think that your business is related to a part of our business, although this is not so. This distortion can lead to the deterioration of our good relations with clients in the UK and even their departure.

In response, the executive director of
Lowdownapp compared
Nokia ’s requirements with the battle of David against Goliath: “This is ridiculous - all people say:
'I'm here,' to announce their arrival, that's why we used it as a service. We do not understand how a small startup can cause trouble for a multi-billion dollar company.
Life is hard enough without the
Goliaths crushing David , maybe instead they had to focus on creating a better map service than
Google or
Apple than nightmare a tiny business. "
Lowdownapp was founded in 2013 in London.
