The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media summed up the “Code Hour”: over 7 million schoolchildren took part in the action

More than seven million schoolchildren from 35 thousand educational institutions of Russia took part in the All-Russian educational campaign “Hour Code”, aimed at popularizing professions in the field of information technology. The action was supported by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications, the Ministry of Education and Science and leading Russian IT companies. 7 141 341 (71%) schoolchildren from 35,285 (83%) schools took part in the All-Russian educational campaign “Hour of the code”. The first place in terms of the number of participants was taken by the Volga region, in the number of educational institutions involved - the North-West region. The children watched a video lesson with the participation of well-known Russian entrepreneurs, talked with leading programmers and company leaders and solved logical problems. Within the framework of the campaign, a competition for informatics teachers was held.

The head of the Ministry of Communications said about the prospects of working in IT, mentioning the increase in budgetary places in state universities for IT specialties by 35% .
