AMD has launched three new models of four-core processors from the Phenom family. The flagship chip - Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition with a frequency of 2.6 GHz - is intended primarily for overclocking fans. According to official data, it is at least 5% faster than the previous top-end X4 9850 chip. And the two “cost-effective” processors, the Phenom X4 9350e with a frequency of 2 GHz and the Phenom X4 9150e (1.8 GHz), are related to low-power hardware. This figure is equal to 65 watts. While the new X4 9950 consumes 140 watts.
All three processors are developed on 65-nm technology, consist of 540 million transistors. They work with the HyperTransport 3.0 bus.
According to testing conducted by HotHardware, AMD's new top-end processor caught up with Intel’s quad-core Q6600, but still lags behind Core 2 Extreme QX9650. ')
Prices, however, do not bite. The cost of the Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition is $ 235, the Phenom X4 9350e is $ 195, the Phenom X4 9150e is $ 175.
