At the end of February, within the framework of the annual forum Positive Hack Days
, the acceptance of applications for the section for young scientists of Young School
started . Despite the change of format (before
Young School was a competition), the goal remained the same - to support talented specialists in the field of information security.
For two months, we have taken research work of students, graduate students and independent young scientists on various practical security topics - from the protection of business systems and applications to applied cryptography. We were interested in work supported by the results of experiments.
')
This year there has been a bias towards cryptography - most of the work is devoted to it. We are pleased that the applications were sent by students and graduate students not only from those universities that have long become regulars of the Young School - NSU, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI", TSU, SFU, - but also beginners (for example, OmGTU).
So, the following works were selected for the section:
- Anton Plnkin (SFU) - “Integration of quantum keys into the data encryption algorithms of the domestic telecom network”;
- Nikita Oleksov and Oleg Broslavsky (TSU) - “Development and implementation of the HMAC hashing scheme as part of the White-box cryptography model”;
- Elena Doynikova (SPIIRAN) - “Techniques and software components of risk assessment and choice of countermeasures based on attack graphs for SIEM systems”;
- Yuri Ogorodnikov (OmGTU) - “Combined attack on the RSA algorithm using the SAT approach”;
- Maxim Kolomeets (St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”) - “Development of new graphic models for visualization of computer networks”;
- Maxim Vakhrushev and Evgeny Zagurskikh (NSU) - “Development of public-key cryptographic systems based on a generalization of the knapsack problem”.
The authors will present their research at the international forum Positive Hack Days VI, which will be held in Moscow on May 17 and 18. For each selected work, the organizers will reimburse one of the authors for travel and accommodation expenses, and co-authors will receive tickets to the forum.
