Source code is available on GitHub. Node.js + Angular2 + MongoDB full-stack JavaScript toolkit, Gulp.js build, Mocha testing, DigitalOcean hosting, PayPal API payments are used.
Stages of the project creation process are captured on LiveCoding. ')
The essence of the project is that people who travel frequently can deliver almost any items in their luggage to others. For example, you live in the USA and you urgently need any medicines or documents from Russia. On Donkeys you can find a man who is just traveling from Moscow to New York. He can help for money or for free.
Thus, users can act both as customers who need delivery and as travelers who can deliver anything. The traveler has the ability to invoice the customer, the service fee, together with the PayPal fee, is about 10%.
The project will be interesting first of all:
people who are far from home (longing for native food such as halva, chocolate, kefir, etc., the need for specific drugs)
those who want to save on the purchase of goods. One subscriber for livecoding, for example, claimed that electronics in France are cheaper than in Britain :)
for students who are away from home and who are moving seasonally from home to home and back
truckers, flight attendants, salespeople in general, to all those who, by the nature of their activities, often travel and are not averse to making extra money on this.
Benefits:
speed of delivery (theoretically, you can find a traveler who is going to your city tomorrow)
low cost of goods in the country of the manufacturer
transportation of prohibited goods for delivery by mail (drugs, food, documents)
low shipping costs in some cases (for example, a bike from Boston to Montreal).
Disadvantages:
low responsibility of participants (there are ratings and reviews, in terms of connecting profiles of social networks)
travelers' fears and concerns
cheap transportation compared to the price of the flight by plane.
