Good day, dear habravchane! Today I want to tell you about our project with colleagues - Statsbot . This is an analytical bot that integrates with Google Analytics, Mixpanel, New Relic and displays the necessary metrics in your chat.

Initially, the bot appeared on Slack and in the 4 months of its existence it “hired to work” more than 7,000 teams worldwide, including NASA, Vimeo, SalesForce, Pebble, Mixpanel and many other well-known brands. And now we are pleased to announce that “your humble servant” lives even in Telegram - @getstatsbot .

Also, the bot supports a number of dimensions (dimensions), which will allow to segment the data using the “for” and “by” operators. For example, “sessions by social media last week” will display on the graph the number of sessions from social networks for the last week. And “users this year by source for mobile” will show the number of users from a mobile phone and the source of traffic for them.

Why an analytical bot?

Ease of teamwork. Any working dialogue about statistics or behavioral metrics requires unloading data from analytical tools. Moreover, the live presence of several people in front of one screen is often necessary. Statsbot will allow the entire command to be aware of the various project indicators at a time.

Analytics in your smartphone. There are no Yandex.Metrics or Google Analytics applications for mobile phones where all the functionality familiar to us from desktop versions is implemented. Statsbot, or rather the conversational interface, is able to provide a cross-platform solution (from hours to TVs) without detracting from the potential of analytical services.

Geeks love text interface. Many developers use different console utilities daily. Package managers are much more comfortable than application stores, working with Git or Mercurial is more comfortable in the console, the habit of Vim, and so on.
