Welcome to Moscow Atlassian Meetup April 26

On April 26, at the office of the Mail.Ru Group, for the third time, a meeting will be held on the Atlassian products. We decided to limit ourselves to 3 reports, leaving more time for live communication. The emphasis is on the most technically advanced presentations, so the meeting will be of interest first of all to experienced administrators and developers.

eazyBI makes it easy to build reports and charts, being one of the most popular JIRA plug-ins on the Atlassian Marketplace. The founder and lead developer of eazyBI, Raimonds Simanovsky, will come from Latvia to talk about the evolution of eazyBI from a single web application to a set of several products with different deployment options.

Some theses:

• packaging JRuby on Rails applications as a plugin for JIRA;
• problems with support for many versions of JIRA, databases, operating systems;
• making the JIRA plugin from the JIRA JVM process;
• main architectural problems of developing Atlassian Connect-plugin for JIRA Cloud.

"How to write your first plugin for JIRA", Alexander Kuznetsov (StiltSoft, Belarus)

Are you an experienced JIRA administrator? Easily customize custom fields, never lose track of workflow, but sometimes you miss the standard JIRA functionality? It's okay - you always have the opportunity to write a plugin for JIRA. Do not know how? Teach!

The report will discuss what the first steps should be taken by an experienced JIRA administrator when developing their first plug-in. We’ll talk about the Atlassian SDK and its most commonly used commands that simplify the life of a novice plugin developer. We will thoroughly analyze the structure of the plug-in, what the main "building blocks" it consists of and how to combine these "building blocks" into a single whole. During the performance, we will try to write our first plugin together with the audience and launch it in JIRA!

"Pocker - GUI for Docker", Vladimir Vasilkin (ALMWorks, St. Petersburg)

Easy and fast deployment of Atlassian products in various configurations and management. When developing plug-ins for Atlassian solutions, all process participants often need to deploy JIRA or Confluence in a specific environment:

• developers do this for debugging;
• QA - for testing;
• customer support - to reproduce customer problems;
• sales - to demonstrate the new functionality;
• system administrators - for developers, QA and others.

In the speech, we will describe how using the OpenSource-Pocker tool you can easily and quickly raise such configurations by selecting different DBMS, versions, plugins, databases, and then manage them - start / stop, view logs and so on.
