Launch of Google Auto service in Russia

Just a few hours ago, Google announced the launch of its operating system for Android Auto cars, which is available in 18 countries that include Russia proudly. This was reported by the developers in the Android microblog.

For Android Auto, the driver will need a smartphone with Android OS 5.0 Lollipop or higher, as well as a compatible on-board computer. The smartphone is connected to the computer via the USB port, and a special OS is launched on the screen in the car: with its help, you can view the notifications that came to the phone, make calls, use the navigator, select music and launch some other applications available in Android.

A complete and up-to-date list of cars that have the support of Auto technology is on the main page of the project, but at the moment it is not known which of them are available for purchase in Russia: mostly, we are talking about new models.

In addition to the built-in on-board computers, Android Auto also supports third-party radios from two manufacturers: Pioneer and Kenwood, which also support Apple's CarPlay.
