Red Hat Enterprise Linux is now free for developers.

Often, free versions have limited functionality, which imposes significant restrictions on the developer.

However, the Red Hat guys decided once again to remind the world that the “free” should be “free” without additional conditions and in small print in the style “you are obliged to watch our advertisement every full moon”. Therefore, now the product “Red Hat Enterprise Linux” for developers is distributed through the system “no cost” -subscription , as reported in a press release on the official website of the company.

The company identifies the following components of RHEL, which are now distributed through the system "no cost" subscriptions:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server - the ability to develop enterprise applications and solutions based on Linux.
• Dev tools with long-term support — every major release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux includes a set of basic tools that will be supported for ten years (Python, PHP, Ruby, OpenJDK 7 (1.7), OpenJDK 8 (1.8), and more).
• Frequently updated Dev tools are several open source programming languages, databases, web servers, and development tools that are updated annually to the latest stable versions (packaged in Red Hat Software and Red Hat Developer Toolset).

With Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat JBoss Middleware, which are now distributed free of charge, developers will be able to use our technologies to run their own projects and create solutions without worrying about compatibility and the need for porting.
