PyCon Russia moves to Moscow

Hello!
For three years, our team conducted PyCon Russia in Yekaterinburg, and this year we are ready to begin the journey through the cities of Russia.

Where and when

It seems fair if the international conference of pythonists becomes closer not only to their Ekaterinburg participants, but also to those guys who come to us from all over Russia. It is quite logical that our choice fell on Moscow - to come from any city of Russia here in most cases is cheaper and more convenient than to any other.

PyCon Russia will take place on July 3-4 at the Cronwell Yakhonty Tarusa hotel, 95 km from Moscow.
')
The first three PyConRu took place outside the city: nature, no extra people, complete immersion in communication and learning. We want to keep a cool traveling format: we are leaving 95 km from the city, we live in a beautiful picturesque place. Yahnoty Tarusa is a hotel with a forest, a lake, a pool, a barbecue and other pleasures of life. Summer, two days in nature - beauty.

The brain of the conference - speakers with useful content, and the soul - a great night after-party with a fire, beer and lots of communication. Therefore, this year we decided to include accommodation at the base in the ticket price by default. Dive so completely.

And on July 5, we will arrange an excursion-walk in Moscow for our speakers and participants.

Program committee

It is the program committee that makes the program relevant and interesting. These are cool pythonists and simply wonderful people who select applications and help speakers to perform really well. This year, this is Andrey Svetlov (Python Core Developer, engineer at DataRobot, organizer of Pycamp / Pycon Ukraine), Andrey Vlasovskiy (IDE PyCharm developer at JetBrains), Roman Imankulov (developer of Doist Inc.), Danila Shtan (project manager at Scrapinghub), Mikhail Korobov (Python-developer at Scrapinghub, speaker of many Python conferences).

Program

We are starting to form a program. As always, we try to bring top python committees, creators of popular frameworks and libraries, to the conference.

Raymond.jpg

The name of the first headliner is already known - Raymond Hettinger , Python core developer since 2001, author and maintainer of many parts of the language. Last year, the Python Software Foundation awarded its Python Distinguished Service Award for exceptional contributions to the development of the Python community. It is thanks to this person that generator expressions, local optimization, collections and the itertools module, LRU caching and some of the built-in functions that we use every day, for example, any, all, enumerate, reversed, zip and sorted are as they are. Raymond's report is called "Static Type Checking in Python: What does it mean?"

Soon we will name the names of the other invited speakers, wait! We perfectly understand that now there is not enough information about the program to make a decision on participation, but you can look at the program of past years to make sure that we always invite to our conference significant / cool / best world-class experts. And without false modesty do it first :)

The conference will be held in two streams every day, on the second day there will be several master classes.

Working languages are Russian and English.

How to become a speaker

Do you and your colleagues have something to tell? We always welcome speakers with an interesting experience. We accept applications until June 10, after which the program committee will select the best. These reports and get into the final grid.

Why is it worth participating

We always have a quality program, interesting entertainment and a very soulful atmosphere.

Here are reviews of participants of past payons:

Gregory Petrov, technical Voximplant evangelist.
Good, good conference. Very high-quality aftapati, which actually discusses the most interesting technical points. Traditionally, the increased presence of Yandex and Mail.

Andrey Svetlov, Python Core Developer.
The most important thing - it turned out interesting to chat guys and girls.
Some interlocutors saw for the first time.
I know others for many years, but I can only see it live about once a year at conferences like this.
And this is very cool: do not correspond, but just talk!

Abdullin Damir, developer of the Bars Group.
It was quite informative and fun, which is also important (good partners in the face of ideco tried and organized a game store). Especially fun was in the queue for free beer, where a couple of dozen people with engineering education could not overcome the draft machine).

Dmitry Anufriev, Development Team Leader, 2GIS
In terms of useful information received, #pyconru turned out to be better than CodeFest!

We invite all those who are not indifferent to the python!
