Friends, I am pleased to share with you the announcements of several master classes that await participants on the first day of the DevCon 2016 conference!
The new conference format offers you to plunge not just into the atmosphere of Microsoft technologies, but with the help of our experts to touch on the most topical issues of development for Windows, use of Azure services, features of the new release of SQL Server 2016 and data analytics.

We are pleased to introduce the themes of the master classes and introduce you to the experts:
Computer vision technologies on the Windows platform from Dmitry Andreyev, a technological evangelist from Microsoft, the main Windows ideologist of the track, at the conference this year.
During the master class, students will be told about the breakthroughs achieved by computer science in this area, and using practical examples will demonstrate how to create applications using these technologies. You will learn how to connect the OpenCV-3.0 library to your universal (UWP) Windows 10 application, how to create universal (UWP) applications of augmented reality on markers and much more.
Microsoft and Open Source is a story of friendship from Alexander Belotserkovsky, who is also a technological evangelist of Microsoft Russia, who forms the Azure program and the Tracks community.
Microsoft loves Linux - this famous slide was shown in 2015, but the history of friendship between Microsoft and Open Source began long before that. At the master class, we will tell and show a little history, examples of the interaction of the Microsoft platform with Open Source, real “Open Source in the Azure Cloud” projects, how you can use this knowledge in your work.
Leading Microsoft Consulting Services Consultant - Dmitry Artyomov will present a
SQL Server 2016 master class
for developers .
As part of the master class, we will try to consider the main innovations of SQL Server 2016, its capabilities in conjunction with Windows Server 2016. The main topics of the upcoming master class will raise questions about how we (today) are developing and why we don’t have to wait for the release of SP1 , new settings in SQL Server 2016, TSQL - new language constructs, operational analytics (Columnstore index, including for In-Memory), Windows 2016 & clusters, and a number of other useful topics.
Together with Mikhail Gavrikov from Rubbles, the conference participants will be able to immerse themselves
in machine learning and Data Science .
In recent years, there are more and more ways to use data that accumulates during a variety of processes. At the master class we will talk about machine learning and data science, discuss the most popular and powerful methods that currently exist: random forests, neural networks, boosting over trees, gradient methods, the method of nearest neighbors. All methods will be visually illustrated with examples of real-world problems that will be solved in Azure ML.DevCon 2016
DevCon is the largest Microsoft conference for developers in Russia. We spend its sixth year and traditionally try to gather those who are not indifferent to the Microsoft platform outside the city, in a comfortable country park hotel, to discuss current technologies together and try out the latest versions of products in practice.
In 2016, DevCon will appear in an updated format. We are happy to share with you the secrets of preparing our conference: why we have come
to a new format , how the
conference grid is being formed. At the same time, we publish details about the conference program, for example, you can get acquainted with the new format “intensive” in the previous
announcement of the intensive on ASP.NET Core .
This year, participants in the event will have more opportunities to immerse themselves in technology and gain new knowledge. We have prepared a large number of new interesting reports from the community, which were described in more detail in the
previous announcement . At the same time, DevCon is still more than just a conference, with a rich program and communication with experts and colleagues outside the program. On the
site you can learn more about how to become a member.
See you at the conference!
