“Almost all names with at least some semantic load have already been bought. Often this situation is the reason that companies are forced to invent frankly strange names only to get the opportunity to be represented on the Internet under a unique domain name. Previously, ICANN has already banned the use of .xxx in order to avoid reproaches in indulging porn sites. According to analysts, in the case of a relaxation of the rules concerning domains, .xxx , as a great many others, may become available for use.
Among the exceptions to the list of common names are those associated with existing registered trademarks ( .apple , .microsoft , etc.). Such domains will be excluded from the number of distributed freely.
