A little less than a month ago, on May 28, 2008, Google released the Google Earth plugin and provided a JavaScript API to work with it. Now developers using Google Maps in their web projects can add a new display mode: Google Earth 3D.
From now on, the Google Earth client can be recreated in the browser: a three-dimensional view of the Earth’s surface, drawing lines and polygons, 3D models, switching layers on / off, loading and viewing KML files.
