Microsoft announced Linux version of SQL Server

Microsoft has announced support for Linux operating systems in the next version of SQL Server.



This is the next step in entering the Linux market after the conclusion of a partnership agreement with RedHat .



Also, Mark Shuttleworth, the founder of Canonical, commented on the announcement:

“We are pleased to work with Microsoft when they bring SQL Server to Linux. Customers are already using Azure Data Lake services on Ubuntu, and now developers will be able to build new applications with all the capabilities of Industrial SQL Server. ”
