Monitoring from Russia: new features of the HostTracker service
Service monitoring accessibility sites HostTracker is constantly expanding its network. Monitoring from Russia was previously available, but we did not have enough coverage and the number of servers to allocate it to a separate pool, so it was in the Eastern Europe region. Now we have 10 agents in different cities of the country - from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok, and the opportunity to check sites only from them, which is convenient if they are focused exclusively on the Russian audience.

Recall that for some time we have had the opportunity to choose a region of the world to check our sites, which had a positive effect on the use of functions such as monitoring response time or speed, and also reduced the number of false positives. This is at the same time more secure - administrators often simply block access from other countries at the firewall level, which significantly reduces the potential for using botnets against this site. With global monitoring, IP addresses had to be added to the allowed lists.
Expansion of our network in Russia became possible, first of all, thanks to Truenetwork , which provided us with several servers in cities that we just lacked: Novokuznetsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok. For which we are very grateful.
Selecting a region for monitoring is very simple - when creating a task, go to advanced settings:
