The competition of young scientists in the framework of the annual forum
Positive Hack Days has become a good tradition. Just think, for the fifth time, Young School gives novice safeguards the opportunity to present their research results to leading experts from around the world! .. However, this time we decided to change the format of Young School: now this is not a contest, but a section.
We are pleased to announce the acceptance of applications. We invite students, graduate students and independent young scientists conducting research in various areas of information security.
')
The subject of research of interest to us remained unchanged - practical security:
- New targets for hacker attacks. Internet of things: iron botnets, smart bracelets and remote control of cars.
- Computer forensics against targeted APT and cyber espionage.
- Attacks on payment systems and RBS, security payWave, PayPass and Apple Pay.
- SOC work: cases, methods, tools.
- Methods of dealing with DDoS attacks.
- Security ERP-systems, business applications. Countering attacks on web applications.
- New vectors and techniques of attacks on mobile devices.
- Protect cloud environments, corporate and private. Security of state information systems and e-government.
- Applied cryptography.
- Methods and means of ensuring physical security.
- Protection of Industrial Control System (SCADA). Safety of industrial systems and the modern city.
- Zero-day vulnerabilities and new ways to deliver exploits.
- Insecure safe development. SSDL and vulnerabilities in information security products.
An important condition: the practical value of the proposed solutions must be confirmed experimentally, as well as justified in terms of novelty and relevance. We do not accept works in which only ideas are presented (even if they are brilliant) that are not supported by concrete results.
The authors of the best research will have the opportunity to speak to hackers and security specialists at the international forum Positive Hack Days VI, which will be held in Moscow on May 17 and 18. For each selected work, the organizers will reimburse one of the authors for travel and accommodation expenses, and co-authors will receive tickets to the forum.
Request
This year, unlike in the past, the application for the section is an abstract of an arbitrary format, in Russian or English. The main requirement: reviewers should be able to evaluate the study in full (for details, see
the design rules ). The reviewers are experts from the academic environment who have experience in practical security.
By the way, now the participants have the opportunity to consult with the organizers before applying. For all questions, you can write to Andrei Petukhov -
youngschool@phdays.com .
Recall that for the first time PHDays Young School was held in 2012, representatives of educational institutions from Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Taganrog met in the final. Over time, the competition went international: last year, young scientists from Germany, Russia, Romania and the United States became finalists.
Do not miss your chance to take part in Positive Hack Days VI! Applications are accepted at
youngschool@phdays.com until April 1, 2016.
