The competition of student works in theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics. Alan Turing

We decided to financially support students who are engaged in theoretical research, and organized a competition of student work.

The purpose of the competition: encouraging the authors of the best student research papers on theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics, encouraging students to research.

Participants in the competition can become full-time students (specialists, bachelors and masters) of any Russian and foreign universities who have this status as of April 1 of the year of the competition, fluent in Russian.

The competition accepts scientific papers on theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics, written at the mathematical level of rigor in Russian or English. It is not required that the submitted work be published.

The recommended amount of work is up to 15 pages. In the works of a larger volume, less significant details should be put in the annex, reducing the main part to 12 pages so that the content of the work is clear without reference to the appendix.

Research areas include, but are not limited to: algorithms, data structures, cryptography, game theory, machine learning, computational geometry, computational complexity theory, algorithm theory, combinatorial optimization, information theory, Kolmogorov complexity, coding theory, mathematical logic, theory graphs, combinatorics, the theory of formal languages, automata, compilers, programming languages, parallel computing, combinatorics of words.

Allowed to submit works written in collaboration; in this case, the work should be accompanied by a letter from the co-authors, which indicates what part of the work was done by the bidder.

Deadline for submission of works: May 10, 2016, 23:59 (Moscow time).

After the deadline for submission of works, the jury selects among the submitted works those who are allowed to participate in the competition and sends the selected works for review to the appropriate specialists (both to the jury members and external reviewers). From these works, guided by reviews and their own opinions, the jury selects 5-10 best works to participate in the final round.

Submission of work will be carried out through the EasyChair system. The server will be open on March 10, 2016, the link to the submission of works will appear here.

The final round is held until July 15 of the year of the competition.

The venue of the final round is St. Petersburg Academic University, St. Petersburg, ul. Khlopina d. 8, v. 3.

Participants are invited to the final round , selected by the jury (if necessary, nonresident finalists can be accommodated free of charge at a hotel at the Academic University, in addition, the road to St. Petersburg and back are paid in full or in part).

The finalists perform a brief report on their work in Russian and answer the questions of the jury. After that, the jury in a closed meeting selects the winners of the competition. Whenever possible, the jury's decision is made on the basis of consensus; otherwise, the chairman of the jury appoints a rating vote.

The winners of the competition receive cash prizes: first place - 100 thousand rubles, second place - 50 thousand rubles. The jury at its discretion may increase or decrease the number of prizes. All finalists receive certificates of merit.
