As usual in my ideas, lytdybr inset
There were problems with the washing machine. Got to look for instructions, climbed the whole house - did not find. Unfortunately, the instructions on the disk / diskette are not supplied with home appliances. I immediately drop them from the computer hardware into the archive, and get rid of the media. But scan paper? Sorry, do not want to. Now, of course, I will look on the Internet, but first I will share a great idea. It seems to me that I am not the only one so absent-minded, many lose instructions. In our century, to keep some pieces of paper is wrong, everything that can, should be in digital.
Future here
Information now occupies ever smaller volumes. A small built-in memory card will fully accommodate the necessary information. How many places will the typical instruction take? Hardly more than 16 megabytes. If only there will be a lot of images. But in the end, you can shove the most basic thing there and give accurate links on the Internet. Why not just links? Then the memory card is not needed, any barcode will be enough. With the Internet, however, sometimes there are lining. The solution with a memory card, in my opinion, is more practical.
The essence
It is necessary to firmly attach a miniature memory card to any equipment / device (electric stove, gas stove, video card, washing machine, bicycle, car, laptop, whatever) Very tiny, technology allows. Naturally, if possible, protect the memory card from damage. This card should contain in a single standard all the necessary information about the device. All that is written on pieces of paper / stickers. Name, model, manufacturer, serial number. Instruction, addresses of service centers.
')
How to read?
Given that the memory card should be miniature, you will not attach a USB port to it. So you can make an additional device to read information from this memory card. A small card reader into which you can plug in a USB flash drive or any other (SD, MMC, etc). Pressed the button, the information was considered, the bulb lit up. Threw on the computer - read.
How to be with a guarantee?
Warranty information will be a bit more complicated. It would be convenient if the seller had provided special information about the warranty on the purchase with a special programmer. Then there would be no need to keep any papers at all. But as you know, how not to defend it, craftsmen still hack :). Yes, and serious protection can increase the cost. There is still need to think. In an amicable way, no warranty cards are needed at all. The date of sale must inform the seller and everything can be found out by serial number. But this, alas, in an ideal world: (.
Advantages and disadvantages
The main disadvantage of the idea is expenses. Ten pages of paper will cost less than a memory card. But, this is an increase in comfort, ease of use. For any device will always be on hand instruction.
Some difficulty in obtaining information? It seems to me that the generation of the 90s and above will cope with ease. In the future, it may not be necessary to supply paper copies at all.
In any case, it is interesting to listen to your comments :)
