Some time ago, my beloved
Last.fm opened for public access its
API . It means that now anyone (even you) can use the database of the most popular music service in the world.
Here is a partial list of what Last.fm can tell you:

- A list of recent listened, favorite, non-favorite tracks.
- List of friends and neighbors
- Events (your, friends, specified artists and recommended)
- Musical recommendations
- Tastemeter
- Information about the artist (albums, ratings, tags, events, similar artists, avid listeners)
- Album information
- Information about a specific track (tag cloud, similar tracks, avid listeners)
- Information about tags (rating, lists of artists albums and tracks)
- Group information (group ratings and recommendations)
- Top charts of individual countries
- Global Top Charts
Data is sent in XML,
XSPF , RSS, iCal and Plain Text formats.
Some services I liked using Last.fm API.
LastGraph
Can create a poster in PDF or SVG format visually reflecting the dynamics of changes in your taste preferences for a week, year or whole life
Tuneglue

Personal tag cloud
')
Compare two user tags
From this comparison, we can conclude that, unlike
Kaaboom , I hardly listen to
Post-rock , and she, unlike me, is
Jazz . We must let her check out
Erik Truffaz .
And the last ... Service calculates
eclecticism of your musical preferencesPS This is copy-paste from my
blog .
