Mitap SPB .NET Community # 9

I want to tell you about the first in the new year mitb SPB .NET Community . After resting after the holidays, we again set about preparing interesting reports on .NET topics and on February 9 we will visit JetBrains, where the guys will talk about the architecture of the new Rider project - cross-platform C # IDE and unmanaged memory tricks implemented in ReSharper 10.

Immediately good news, if you are not from St. Petersburg, but want to listen to the reports, this time we will organize an online broadcast. For details and announcements of reports I ask under cat.

I think many have heard about the project Rider, which JetBrains announced at the beginning of the year, if not, read the post about it and watch the video from NDC London.

Besides the fact that this is a cross-platform C # IDE, which we-developers have waited and wanted for a long time, it is also an interesting project from the point of view of technology. On the Internet, immediately there were many questions about what was under the hood ... C # IDE written in Java, how and why? JetBrains ported ReSharper to Mono? On February 9, Sergey Shkredov , the head of .NET direction at JetBrains, will talk about all this in his report. Announcement from Sergey:
“A story about a product that combines two powerful development platforms - IntelliJ IDEA and ReSharper.
On January 13, 2016, at NDC London, we presented our new product to the general public - a cross-platform IDE for developing .NET applications. In my presentation, I will show how Rider works, tell you about the product, what the first version will include and what is most interesting - tell you how we made a hybrid application that works simultaneously in Java and .NET. ”

The second report will be delivered by Sergey Baltiysky , the developer of the ReSharper application framework at JetBrains. Sergey has twice spoken at our meetings with a story about using native memory & native code in .NET, this is his final report in this series. Announcement of the report:
“It's time to end this long conversation about working with the native memory & native code in dotnet. We figured out the native code (and there were a lot of sad things), we looked at memory techniques directly from C # (everything is much better, but there are nuances). The time has come to collect a large data structure from this, quickly read it from the disk, draw a decent managed API to it and not load GC at work - the story is based on real life events of ReSharper 10. "

I have not seen such a detailed consideration of the topic of using unmanaged code and memory, I recommend everyone to watch his previous video reports and come ask questions.

Videos of other reports from our meetings can be found in community groups, announcements of new meetings will appear in the same place: G + , VK , Twitter .

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at 19:00 in the St. Petersburg office of JetBrains (Universitetskaya nab., 7-9-11 at 5A, BC Universe, access to the office from the Cadet line).

Participation is free, space is limited.

If you want to connect to the online broadcast register here , I will send a link to the broadcast to everyone on Tuesday.
