Where to get money for a startup

(Personal opinion in the continuation of the topic )

I have always been surprised by the appetites of some startups. They want to find an investor who will pay for the unhurried work of 4-5 specialists in a year or two and will not worry much if the project does not pay off. And, surprisingly, such investors are sometimes found. Hooray?

- No, the project often stops and does not go. If an employee is paid for the time, and not for the result, he works poorly (but freelancing earns a good job). Investors are worried, but do not understand, begin to give less. The project stalls completely.

And to work “for the result”, i.e. future share of the profits, most IT professionals will not. Many honestly taken, yes, but the interest goes out and the project does not go again. Again a lack of motivation. The greatest success can be achieved only if you take IT people to another country, imprison them in a dungeon and pick up their passports :) Dreams and dreams!

My opinion - the investor should be the project manager himself, the producer, possibly the author of the project. This ensures proper use of funds.

We return to the question "where to get the money," given that nobody wants to take a loan.
By the way, “Kisa, why do you need money?”, Because on many things you can safely save:
- design is not needed, in a startup you need usability
- Copywriting and administration at the initial level can be done by yourself
- registration of legal entity can be postponed
- etc.
When you spend your own capital, you save on everything and that’s right. In fact, when starting a startup, the first version, which investors are recommended to show for the presentation, should be made public. Users become investors. They will like it - the project has gone. And if not, then no money will help, everything will fly away into the pipe.
What you can spend money on is the engine. I believe that the main thing in any project is innovation, which can only be implemented by a proven, good programmer. You can and should pay for it.

There is another side - the idea of the project. Often a startup is held to not be copied. Therefore, “secrecy” is one of the main enemies of a startup. The author's fears are quite reasonable, but time is running out.

In general, in my opinion, ideas should be shared (as I do in my blog), projects should be launched only for my own money, and investments should be made in programming and convenience.

Ps. Find a partner "for the idea" is quite real. And yet, there are people who willingly implement the project themselves, proposing for the idea of royalty. Personally, I would not give up on 5% of the Odnoklassniki project :)
