Opening fringAPI ™ to Web Developers
Gentlemen and ladies, fellow programmers - hot news from fring: we have just released the fringAPI release, which now allows almost anyone to create and implement any Web applications for the fring community.
This means that now any of those new applications that you are developing are automatically supported by all the functionality of fring, including presence indication, conversation, chat, file transfer, automatic roaming, and all other functions (i.e., the API provides access to GUI client fring with web browser extensions and basic phone features).
Not bad for a start!
So how do you get started with all this? We have opened a new, “web developer” section on our site http://developers.fring.com , there you will find all the necessary documentation on the fring API and examples of simple fringAdd-on. All you need is a practical knowledge of XML and any client-server language (for example, PHP, JSP, ASPX, etc.).

Important! In the next few weeks we are going to provide several samples of fringAdd-ons, so that you can experiment with them, the entire catalog of all new fringAdd-ons will be ready around the end of July (this means that any add-on that you will develop already in July will be available to the entire fring community). Another thing to note is that fringAPI is now available only to the fring client on the Symbian S60 9.2, but very soon other platforms will be added on which the program is running.
This is easy, this is freedom and this is fringing freedom!
