Microsoft stops supporting Windows 8

Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows 8 starting tomorrow (January 12th). Termination of support is stipulated in advance by a fixed date of support lifecycle. Users of this OS can upgrade to the current version of Windows 8.1 (update for Windows 8), upgrade to Windows 10, or roll back to Windows 7. After this date, Windows 8 will stop issuing security and other updates, so users of this OS will stay with lifelong 0day vulnerabilities in it.

On the 12th, the company will release the patch tuesday update set, which will also affect Windows 8. This will be the last set of updates released for it. At the same time, the company will end up supporting outdated versions of the Internet Explorer 7-10 web browser.
