Billion color shades of DreamColor LP2480xz

HP has unveiled its new LCD monitor, developed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation. The main advantage of the 24-inch DreamColor LP2480xz - the ability to display more than a billion color shades.


HP explains the creation of such a monitor with a 30-bit color gamut by the fact that LCD displays currently on the market do not respond to the demands of professional animators, printers and designers. DreamColor LP2480xz is designed to fill this niche of professional displays.

The 30-bit color depth that the DreamColor LP2480xz is capable of providing is 64 times more than that for conventional LCD monitors. The remaining characteristics are also on the level. The resolution is 1920 × 1200, the contrast is 1000: 1, the brightness is 250 cd per square meter.

The monitor is equipped with two DVI-I connectors, DisplayPort 1.1 and HDMI 1.3 interfaces, component and composite video inputs, an S-Video TV-in and four USB ports.

The cost of a mega-color monitor from HP and DreamWorks Animation is $ 3,500.
