Turn off the sound on the pages and other useful stuff in the assembly Vivaldi 1.0.340.7

In today's build, we offer a new feature, which we called “Silent Tabs For Users” among us - it allows you to turn off the sound on the browser pages in one click. Other innovations include support for Netflix and HTML5 notifications, as well as, of course, fixing a large number of bugs. Now - in order of everything.

Silent Tabs For Users

Some users saw this feature in other browsers and asked to add it to Vivaldi. We try to always be attentive to the wishes of our users, so we are ready to present what happened. While this is a basic level, but we are ready to improve the function, following your wishes. So write to us, do not hesitate. Well, actually, how it works:

Netflix support

More recently, we have added support for proprietary media formats (H.264 / AAC and MP3) to our browser, now it would be nice to make it all work on popular sites. We have done some work and now the popular Netflix service will delight its users in the Vivaldi browser:


Tip: in order to fully focus on watching movies, you can also disable the display of the interface in the browser settings (option “Show user interface”), and also do not forget to switch the other tabs to the STFU mode described in the previous part.

HTML5 notifications

The new build has the opportunity to receive notifications from other sites, but do not worry - it will work only if you want to receive them and give the appropriate permission.


Known Issues

• Mac support for Netflix needs some work.
