How did we do Linux-penguins for the New Year

Why penguins?

It's simple! Sooner or later, but every IT person wants to have a talisman or attribute that would show himself in a peculiar way to himself and those around him, what kind of IT religion do you profess. As with the shaman tambourines , it is time for soft toys. I personally, wanted a Linux-penguin, but all that was found was, to put it mildly, “not quite a penguin” :) Therefore, we decided to do it ourselves.

Manufacturing process

The process itself was short in such stages:
')
1. Search for a manufacturer
2. The choice of material (fabric, plush, color, eyes)
3. Sewing an example
4. Approval of comments (landing priests, beak. Priests size, legs, head shape ...)
5. Repetition of p.2, p.4 until the result is worthy in our opinion.
6. Tailoring a large batch of approved example.

Attributes

We decided to decorate our penguin with printing sunset badges.
Here's what they look like:

Free bonus :)

Sometime earlier, we already wrote about creating a store of tambourines . Then we used our own CMS, which was written in pure php, using a procedural code (for example, functions.php, core.php were connected by all files). But after a while, we began to engage in not only tambourines, but also IT toys. Our friends and acquaintances also began selling unusual things: candles made from natural wax, honey, as well as unusual designer jam. All of them used as sales sites of well-known services or social networks. In the first case, the intrusive managers were bored with their services of promoting your products, complex functionality and many service packages. In the second case, there was no specific organization of the process: customer bases, order forms, statuses, etc. Therefore, I decided to write a small CMS online store, on the beautiful phara-framework Laravel 5.1. First of all, this CMS did not pursue goals of commercial benefit, as well as what was planned to sell on it. In the sense that the sale of a small range of goods was not considered as a full-fledged business, but only for their internal needs and small benefits.

What is good?

Actually the project is open, it was written in a week, but quite production.
