Jikes .

Today Dave is already over 70, and he is working on one of his projects - the SPITBOL programming language (
repository on GitHub ). Language specialization - working with text and pattern recognition. Forces Dave language has been fully adapted to work on modern operating systems.
Now one of the priority tasks of an engineer is to port SPITBOL from assembler to other languages. “Its peculiarity is that it is the most elegant of the surviving examples of machine-level code,” says Dave.

discussing it on Hacker News, when Dave announced that he was the only one who supported SPITBOL and was doing it completely openly with the help of GitHub.
He recalls participation in the project Jikes, which brought many awards for the company, but Dave remembers this time solely as an opportunity to work well, which he then took advantage of and tries not to miss the moment now, working on SPITBOL.
