Speeding up: Opera 9.50 build 10048 released

Last night came the next beta build of my favorite browser. For fans to download (at your own risk, of course, since this is an intermediate build):

In parallel with the traditional development of Kestrel, we also had a separate project to improve the appearance of the browser. The new skin is rather a prelude to Peregrine, allowing you to look into the future ...

In a word, a new look can be described as clear. We wanted to create a skin with clear contours and clear icons with intuitive meaning, such as, for example, the symbols used at airports - and at the same time in accordance with our Scandinavian tradition ( what are they interested in? ). The new look, by the way, is better coordinated with the version for Wii and Opera 9.5 for Windows Mobile.

The color scheme of the interface was chosen so as not to distract your attention from browsing the pages, but at the same time to be clear and clearly indicate the actions performed by the elements (for example, the Stop button turns red).

The quality and attention to detail in the browser itself should be reflected in its appearance, which is why we allowed ourselves to use the design elements of professional audio and video equipment when creating backgrounds, buttons and tabs.

In the default configuration, we added a button to open the panels ( which are sidebar ), since it is much more useful for them to be in the hidden state. In addition, in the panel selection bar, we added the “ + ” button, which allows you to add more panels or delete unnecessary ones ( how interesting is it possible to delete the panels with the “ + ” button? ). Thanks to this, Opera has become easier to use for newbies, allowing them to grow with the development of the product, and for others to discover new and new features.

The "New Tab" button is now located to the right of the last tab. Users of IE7 are more familiar and it will be easier for them to switch to it (a cool marketing move, aha ), and later they can remember that you can use Ctrl + T or double click on the tab bar for this. You may notice that the button has a pointed shape, combined with the button for restoring closed tabs, this is a hint of speed and performance ( that's how ).

As for me personally, the new skin did not cause any particular negative associations, despite some of its darkness (subtle pun). The browser should work much more steadily than builds 9xxx (at least the search for history works there).
