Venture investment as crowdsourcing

Want to feel like a venture capitalist? Welcome to the new VenCorps project. This is a kind of game in which participants do not need to risk their money, they “invest” in start-ups just gaming chips and earn points if their investments bring virtual profits (winners will receive valuable prizes).

It would seem that a typical market of forecasts, of which there are many on the Internet. But the difference of this project is that there is real money behind it. VenCorps organizers will invest their own capital in those projects that will filter out for them the collective intelligence of the game participants. By the way, we are talking about serious money: funds from the two billionth venture fund from the investment company Spencer Trask , which organized this experiment, were allocated to finance the project.

How successful this approach will be, time will tell. VenCorps, they say , will start in about three months, now we are registering beta testers.
