YouTube videos have interactive captions

YouTube has a new feature for commenting videos. Now the authors of the video content can fill the video with captions, as in comics. These can be explanations of the text or the decoding of words (so that the video can be watched without sound). Moreover, it can be buttons that call other videos, so you can make up complex stories with a florid plot that unfolds at the choice of the viewer (a few examples under the screen).

Of course, while browsing, reading comments is rather inconvenient and very unusual. It distracts from the video itself. Some users bluntly say that this annoying feature is not needed by anyone except advertisers.

Advertisers. Of course, satisfied. Now they can attach text to the video sequence. Binding is carried out not only by time, but also to individual objects on the screen. Clicked on the advertised product - and read its description, or immediately get to the order page. Sometimes even directing is not necessary, and the advertising caption appears automatically.

Comments can always be turned off: to do this, click the small arrow in the lower right corner of the frame, after which another incomprehensible button appears to turn off comments. The developers seemed to have worked hard to turn off the captions as difficult as possible.
