
The Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Telecommunications of the Spanish Civil Guard warned of a new
type of fraud , which is directed to mobile phones. As part of this scam,
cyber criminals report that they have taken control of your device and threaten to disclose
your personal information to those who are in your contacts.
Warnings are
emailed and look like this:

In this letter, they report that they give you 48 hours to translate two bitcoins
(virtual currency that has real value), otherwise the price will be increased to five
bitcoins , if you do not pay within the specified period. On the seventh day, if you do not make a money transfer, your personal information will be published.
However, according to the Civil Guard, this is nothing more than a
scam and you should be careful not to fall into the trap.
