Intel sold Microsoft's Havok

On October 3, Microsoft announced the purchase from Intel of a well-known developer of physics engines for Havok games. According to Microsoft, the achievements of Havok will be used in many products of the company, first of all, DirectX, as well as PC and Xbox games. It is separately emphasized that the Havok engine will be available for third companies.

Intel has not yet received official comments, but the logic of the deal is clear without it: Intel has given up a non-core asset to someone who needs it more. Hopefully, the deal will be profitable for all parties.
