Opera has changed a lot since we started our journey as a browser development company 20 years ago. Today we provide services to more than one billion Internet users worldwide, including 350 million users who access the Internet using our applications or services, and 1.1 billion people through Opera Mediaworks. More features with the new “O”
The cornerstone of the new Opera brand is our updated “O” logo. Just like our products are more than just technology, the new logo does not just mean the first letter of our company name.
We see the new Opera logo as a portal that quickly connects you to what you are looking for online. Three-dimensional “O” symbolizes the path that leads you to more: more content, more discoveries, more answers, more communication, more data savings, more life - no matter what you look for online, Opera will give you more options!
From Opera Software to Opera
With the ever-growing Opera family and our ever-expanding line of products and services, we gradually went beyond the scope of an exclusively software company. Today, Opera is an online company that provides a great online experience. To comply with this, we removed the “Software” from our logo.
How we worked on it
A new brand is a more complex structure than colors, icons, and fonts. This is a whole system that easily and clearly unites our goals, products and history. Building such a system required close cooperation between Opera’s creative team and two independent agencies, DixonBaxi (UK), which helped us define a global brand and creative strategy, and Anti (Norway), who worked with us on visual materials. It was an exciting year-long project.
Opera never stands still, so it was so important for us that our new brand could grow with us. We have new solutions and products on the way, and we want them to organically fit into our new style and design.
Over the next few months, we will introduce our new brand into all Opera products. Opera for Android , Opera Mini for Android and Opera for computers are next in line, the new brand will appear in just a few updates. Soon after, we will change the icons and logos in our Opera Max data management application, Opera Coast browser for iOS and other applications. Follow our news!
