Report on the International Engineering Fair MSV 2015
Most recently, on September 18, I visited the last day of the international exhibition International Engineering Fair (MSV), held from September 14 to September 18 in Brno, Czech Republic. Official event information is available at: www.bvv.cz/en/msv . Since my educational activities at the university are connected with robotics, I decided to personally participate and look at the achievements of modern science and technology with my own eyes. Here I present a brief report on my visit to MSV 2015. I only had a few hours of free time, so I only visited selected sections of the exhibition. Who is interested, please under the cat. Caution: a lot of traffic.
About the exhibition
The exhibition is already organized 57 times at the sites of the Brno Exhibition Center near the city center. The exhibition is primarily devoted to innovation and technical advances in the industrial sector; A special place, for example, is automation with the use of robotics. In particular, I was interested in the topics of 3D technologies, microelectronics and robotics. Among the presented stands one could meet both large companies and corporations like ABB, Canon, Universal Robots, and various universities and financial institutions like ČSOB. A full-day ticket costs CZK 210, you can buy it on the page: www.bvv.cz/en/msv .

3D printers
MCAE has launched an exhibition of 3D technologies at the site of one of the pavilions - MCAE 3D EXPO. Most of the site was occupied by 3D printing stands, the rest was 3D scanning systems. Canon booth is not affiliated with 3D printing and represents wide format printing.
Below is the most accurate printer among those presented, allowing to print products the size of a coin in the smallest detail.
A few more different 3D printers from different manufacturers.
These products were printed on printers.
3D scanners
The first and easiest SCANIFY scanner from Fuel 3D uses two stereo cameras and receives a 3D image with color and shape in an instant. Presented here: www.fuel-3d.com/product .
VECTRA scanner, using a conventional optical camera and two mirrors to obtain two images at different angles. When scanning, you need to take several pictures of the object from different sides. With one capture, we get two pictures, which will then be automatically stitched in a special program in a 3D image on the principle of photogrammetry.
More sophisticated ATOS scanner used to scan large objects such as cars.
ATOS ScanBox is a robotic solution for specific industrial tasks.
Scanner using structured light technology - SLS-2.
MetraSCAN scanner, consisting of a robotic scanning head and two auxiliary sensors to clarify the position of the camera in relation to the scanned object.
Portable GO! SCAN 3D in work and appearance. Allows you to get full-color and three-dimensional image in high resolution.
The HANDYSCAN 3D hand-held scanner is highly accurate, but only receives a depth map (no color).
All CREAFORM scanners allow you to scan online and monitor the scanning process on a computer screen in a special visualization program.
Robotics
KUKA robots at work on surface treatment.
Universal robots robotic arms work wonders in capturing and moving products on the conveyor.
Robot from Mitsubishi
ABB products, including the popular and powerful manipulator YuMi, were also presented in a separate pavilion.

Generally
Despite the fact that I had only a few hours to examine the exposition, this time was enough for me to get acquainted with the presented achievements of science and technology in areas that are of professional and personal interest to me. Exposure scale of the entire exhibition requires at least one day to get acquainted with all the stands. I do not regret the time spent - this time was spent with benefit. If someone has a happy opportunity to visit Brno during the exhibition (they change every year, approximately in September - early October), do not spare money for at least one day of the exhibition - it is worth the money spent.
