Russian telecom received $ 25 billion in revenue in 2006

Russian telecom received $ 25 billion in revenue in 2006, says Renaissance Capital. Compared to 2005 figures ($ 20 billion), the sector grew by 25%.

In 2007, the revenue of the telecommunications sector could reach $ 31 billion, and this growth is substantially more than what is predicted in the coming years. It will be due, in particular, to a significant demand for broadband Internet access services, pay TV, mobile content - all against the background of improving solvency of the population. The projected revenue in 2008 is $ 34 billion, in 2009 - $ 36 billion, and in 2010 - $ 37.5 billion.

Analysts conclude that the Russian market is one of the fastest growing in the telecommunications industry. It is ahead of African markets, developing at the level of the Middle East, Prime-TASS reports.
