Grand Canyon Robot

What can a tiny robot that even eats something from ordinary batteries? Japanese engineers have proven that not so little. For example, to climb a rope to a height of 530 meters. This is the record set by a baby called EVOLTA, developed by Matsushita Electric.

Tests were held in the Grand Canyon of Colorado. Despite a number of unsuccessful attempts and bad weather conditions, the creators of the robot did not give up. And finally, the kid managed to conquer the height - to climb the rope, lowered from one of the greatest cliffs of the canyon. It took him six hours and forty-six minutes to climb. In this case, the robot honestly clung to the rope with his hands and feet, like a man.

The weight of the robot is only 130 grams, and its height is no more than a palm. This fun action was carried out as part of an advertising campaign for AA batteries (which served as the source of energy for the robot).
