Facebook platform has become open.

On TechCrunch published news - from today, the Facebook platform is becoming open.

The open Facebook Platform is licensed under the Common Public Attribution License (CPAL), with the exception of the FBML tag (it allows you to create forms that look exactly the same as the native forms of Facebook itself), which includes the Mozilla source code, which is licensed under the Mozilla Public License (MPL) .

The basic version of why Facebook does this is to compete with OpenSocial. So on the one side of the front line Facebook with its open platform, and on the other - a series of social networks (Google / MySpace / Yahoo / AOL), united through OpenSocial.

I wonder when the Russian social network developers will move on to more open formats.
