Do androids dream of electrocups

The notorious Aibo and other robo pets have a significant drawback - they cannot be petted. That is, it is possible to stroke, of course, but there will be no adequate feedback, such as a satisfied purr.



Steve Yohanan from UBC (Canada) decided to fill this gap. He created a robozverushku called Haptic Creature ("tangible creature"), able to respond to the touch of the owner. The animal looks like something covered with wool with two rabbit ears, and is able to "breathe", purr and wiggle with its ears in response to stroking.
