Improved tab selection in the assembly Vivaldi 1.0.258.3

Hello!

We decided to put a new one for testing in yesterday’s build - with some fixed bugs (for example, with fallen off localization) and new ones in time. In addition to these changes, we tweaked the Cookies Manager a bit, also fixed a bug with an increased memory consumption by the browser, redrawing the application icon in Windows and improving the process of selecting several tabs. Now more about the new feature.

Tab selection and group placement

One of the most noticeable changes in the new assembly is the improved tab selection feature. More precisely - an improved visual representation of this choice. This function is quite well combined with another, which was presented earlier, but somehow did not receive due attention. This is a feature of placing multiple tabs in a single browser window. For clarity, we can give an example. Open several tabs:

Now, holding down the Ctrl or Shift key, we can select several of them, while the result of the selection is now displayed more clearly:


Further, if we want to place all selected tabs in one browser window for simultaneous viewing, we use the corresponding button in the browser interface:


Select the option “Place on the grid” from the list that opens and get approximately the following result:
