Fall semester 2015 courses at the Computer Science Club

Classes in the fall semester at the Computer Science Club will begin in the first week of September! As always, all club lectures are open, registration is not required. All are welcome. For a list of courses and a detailed schedule, look at the club website: compsciclub.ru

On September 2, at 18:00, Ivan Blizn will begin to teach a course on parameterized algorithms. This area studies the complexity of algorithms depending not only on the size of the input data, but also on various additional parameters. Over the past decade, many new beautiful results have appeared in this area. The course will be read in the recent book Parameterized Algorithms, released in 2015 by M. Tsygan, F. Fomin, L. Kovalik, D. Marx, M. Filipchuk, M. Filipchuk and S. Saurab: link.springer.com/book /10.1007%2F978-3-319-21275-3

Michael Bronstein will talk about the methods of geometric calculations and their use in computer vision systems, Natasha Sharygina will read a mini-course on software analysis and formal verification, Fernando Pedoni will tell about distributed computing systems, and Olaf Schenk about parallel computing and numerical modeling. Lectures will be read in English, but questions can be asked in Russian. Course annotations and a detailed schedule can be found on the course page:
