QIWI launched Visa payWave on Android devices

In the electronic wallet Visa Qiwi Wallet an opportunity to pay for purchases and services in institutions using NFC chips on smartphones with the Android operating system.

Contactless payment is available to Visa Qiwi Wallet users on devices with NFC chips and an Android 4.4 operating system. New technology can be used with contactless terminals in establishments.

The Visa Qiwi Wallet system uses Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology, which allows you to emulate a Visa payWave payment card on Android devices. For payment, an electronic wallet account is used: Visa Qiwi Wallet, which can be recharged from terminals, bank cards and mobile phone accounts.

According to the Director General of Visa in Russia, Andrew Torre, the system will be in demand in supermarkets, fast food restaurants and gas stations.
