The University of Innopolis opened a school of high-performance computing in scientific and engineering problems

Representatives of 15 regions of Russia and 4 CIS countries became participants in the event. Program and link to the online broadcast under the cut

This Monday, the Summer School, which was organized jointly with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, opened at the site of a new Russian IT university in the city of Innopolis. Dmitry Kondratyev, the director of Innopolis University, gave a start to the event, who welcomed all the participants on the territory of the university, spoke about the history of its creation, training programs and wished the participants to spend time in the framework of the project. During the week, the event will feature lectures on current problems of the mechanics of deformable media, as well as their applications to engineering problems.

This is the seventh Summer School conducted by the scientific and educational center of supercomputer technologies. In collaboration with Innopolis University, the School is held for the third time. For the first time - on the new site, in the teaching and laboratory building of the University in Innopolis. Among the lecturers at the School are Professor Bharat Soni , a renowned expert in high-performance computing and their applications, vice president of the University of Technology Tennessee, USA.
Applications for participation in the school were sent by young researchers from all over Russia - from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok. For the first time students and graduate students from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan appeared among the listeners.
“This year the main theme of the School is narrower and more specialized than in previous years. Students will be presented with test problems on solutions of elliptic type equations encountered in the theory of elasticity, computational geometry and pattern recognition. Judging by the questionnaires, all the participants of the school are interested young researchers conducting scientific work in these areas. Some students want to enter the magistracy of Innopolis University and consider the School not only as a platform for obtaining new knowledge, but also as an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the university. All teachers of the School strive to contribute to the fact that 8 working days would not only be useful for students in terms of obtaining new knowledge, but also pass in pleasant communication, establishing new scientific contacts and mutual enrichment with ideas of new developments, ”the physicist said. - Mathematical Sciences, Professor, author of over 150 scientific papers and lecturer at the Summer School Alexey Lobanov.

The Summer School of High Performance Computing in scientific and engineering problems is supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and Telecommunications Partner of Innopolis University, MegaFon .
For everyone who wanted, but could not come to the Summer School in Innopolis, an online broadcast of lectures is organized.
