May 23, Moscow hosted Dribbble Meetup 2015 . At this informal conference for designers were a half dozen of strong and interesting experts, represented in one of the main thematic social networks Dribbble . Team Zeplin, Igor Mustaev (Shop of letters), Anatoly Gromov (Fjord), Danil Krivoruchko (Charlex), Oleg Turbaba (SFÇD), Pavel Shumakov (Vkontakte), Elena Lazutina, Alexey Rybin (Great Simple Studio), Andrey Karmatsky (Yandex) , Anton Kartashov (Innova), Pavel Skripkin (Mail.Ru Group) and Evgeny Belyaev (Avito), Dmitry Novikov (MacPaw), Dmitry Chuta (Chapps), Oleg Andrianov (Odnoklassniki). There were many practically useful stories and stories from the life of designers and companies with a lively and cheerful dialogue with the audience.
Together with Oleg Andrianov, we are holding a mitap for the fourth time with the support of Mail.Ru Group and with the consent of Dribbble itself . Since last year, this is a completely official event #dribbblemeetup , and one of the largest in the world. The first time was very interesting and vigorous. In 2013, it turned out to develop the idea and make the event bigger - about 400 listeners came and a dozen speakers. In 2014, we again went ahead and broke our records - about 550 listeners and 17 speakers. Well, this time the bar rose again - 600 listeners. The venue selected Mail.Ru Group office on Leningradsky Avenue , which accommodated all.
Dribbble was created by Dan Cederholm, founder of the American design studio SimpleBits. It’s not easy to get an invitation to publish your works and, as a result, the site contains only high-quality works and the best designers from around the world. And with the advent of team accounts, major Internet services like Facebook, Dropbox, Evernote, Google promptly publish fresh pieces of their fresh work. Our team at Mail.Ru Group also publishes its groundwork during the redesign of the company's products and the creation of new services.

The program was opened by Vadim Rostotsky from Odnoklassniki , who announced a competition for designers Russian Design Cup 2015 . It will be held for the fourth time. Recently, the details and composition of the jury, among the new faces - Artem Geller and Pavel Shumakov.
The first presentation of Igor Mustaev from the Letters of Letters great inspired those present with his love for the chalk. Igor has been engaged in lettering for a long time, and in addition to this he teaches on the course of Ilya Ruderman in the British. One of his recent works is the New Year screensavers of Channel One, which is very sensational in the design community. He also told about this and other works, as well as his technique.
Anatoly Gromov from the Swedish office of Fjord told what the company does and how the typical project work process is organized, as well as the difference between product and service design. He was probably the longest question and answer session - the audience was interested to learn as much as possible about the work of the company.
Evgeny Belyaev ( Avito ) and Pavel Skripkin ( Mail.Ru Group ) recently launched Resonator , a tool to facilitate cutting mobile design and other graphics for transfer to developers. They told about the problems of this difficult process and showed how their product makes life easier.
Oleg Turbaba from SFÇD St. Petersburg office turned out to be the best speaker of the first part of the rally . He talked about animation in interfaces and started with more or less simple and understandable things. But in the course of the presentation and analysis of his works, very strong and unusual, it became more and more interesting. Over the past couple of years, they have more or less learned the basic things and even managed to step over the level of reason with overcoming the “springs”, and the story of Oleg answered the question “what's next”.
Anton Kartashov from Innova finished the first part with a deep story about working with Origami for Quartz Composer. Anton has accumulated a decent experience with the tool and recently launched a site guide to working with it . This was clearly seen in the presentation, which would be wildly useful to anyone who would like to create highly dynamic prototypes.
Pavel Shumakov , head of the Vkontakte design team, spoke about how the social network is changing and showed directions for the development of the product interface. For a long time, almost nothing was known about what was going on inside and whether there were any designers there at all, so the interest is heightened. In addition to all this, Pasha presented a new mobile application for working with photos.
The team Zeplin - Pelin Kenez , Berk Cebi , Ismail Ceylan and Merih Akar arrived in full composition. The tool facilitates interaction between designers and developers, transferring resources and specifications faster and easier. Russia was the third country in terms of the number of users at the time of the presentation, so interest in the product and the story about it was high. Shortly after the conference, the team moved from Turkey to San Francisco to prepare for a full release and develop it further.
The owner of an interesting and unusual style Elena Lazutina pleased the audience with a very personal story about how these illustrations are created. According to her, this is a simple, but very effective approach with the choice of a simple palette, which varies in the specific work and gives a kind and sincere result.
Alexey Rybin , art director of the Novosibirsk Simple Simple Studio, is a great specialist in UI whales, which he often publishes on Dribbble. And with the launch of DesignModo Market, they have become even more noticeable. Alexey spoke about how the business is arranged on ready-made interfaces and how the studio works on them.
Danil Krivoruchko , art director of the New York studio Charlex , described the history of creating the Urban Walks application , which was recently released with Anton Repponen and Hyperboloid studio. He also walked through the peculiarities of work in an American agency, so the presentation was also personal. The listeners chose Danil the best speaker of the second part of the mitap.
Oleg Andrianov made a good overview of the developments of the Odnoklassniki design team over one of the mobile applications. They were able to build a good bundle of tools so that communication between designers and developers was as fast and productive as possible.
Dmitry Chuta from Chapps has prepared the second version of his last year's story about animation. In addition to the categorization of approaches and solutions, he outlined the problem of tools - most of the solutions currently available yield a video or a GIF, which is equivalent to transferring a layout to JPG. If we want to go beyond the limits of a completely basic animation, we need to seriously rethink a bunch of designer-designer.
The head of the design of Yandex’s map services Andrey Karmatsky got a little tired of talking about products and decided to talk about his experiments in data visualization, primarily cartographic. Soon after the conference, it became clear why - Andrew left the company. He has one of the best examinations in Russia on this topic, so it was extremely interesting to listen to him.
Dmitry Novikov from MacPaw graduated from Mitap with professional philosophy. This year he was forbidden to tell about the Sketch :) It turned out the perfect story to complete the conference - vital, playful, personal and motivating.
In addition, it turned out to collect a lot of interesting listeners, including from strong domestic companies and teams. Thanks to this, active communication went not only on the stage, but also outside the presentations - and this is no less interesting part of any good event. For all this, also a special thanks to our sponsors, who provided prizes for the participants:
Huawei , who played six smart hours among listeners and speakers. The smart watch Huawei TalkBand B2 is already on sale - this is a great gift for the designer.
Wacom , which held the competition for the best logo of Dribbble Meetup 2016 with a gift to the best in the form of a tablet.
Mann Ivanov Ferber , who provided dozens of books, as well as an electronic edition for all participants.
We tried to maintain a balance between the practical usefulness of the stories and the opportunity to introduce the community to each other, as well as to show the most sought-after participants. Many of them performed for the first time and it was noticeable. But mitap is not exactly a conference and it is important to combine the cognitive part with the tusovka. It seems to us that it is this informality that makes Dribbble so interesting. We will adjust the format by the next time in order to make it even more vigorous. So keep an eye out for announcements on the Facebook group , Twitter and the website .
