Good evening, dear Habratchane.
There are too many topics and comments lately with discontent with what “Habr turns into”. The latest thematic topic -
Tired .
I have a constructive proposal, a proposal to conduct an experiment, which may solve the problem with the quality of the content, and, most likely, solve the problems of those who are not satisfied with the situation.
')
But at the beginning
little foreplay:
"Russia is the most reading country." We all read or have ever read, maybe even wrote, various magazines. Some of the magazines produced in our country, we like (liked), others do not. Which magazine to read is everyone’s business. Different journals publish different articles on slightly different topics, some journals publish some news, others editors select others. But all the magazines that adhere to the same subject matter have an axis - news and articles devoted to especially hot, discussed topics and events.
Now let's go to Habr. All Habr is one big magazine, but interactive. Here you can select and filter your own news by tags, blogs, votes. In practice, not everyone takes advantage of this opportunity. Moreover, in general, most people are curious, it is always interesting to know a little more than their specialty. You can always find new interesting topics for yourself in categories that you were not interested in before.
In magazines, editors do it for you ... They decide what you are interested in.
And finally, one more difference - blogs on Habré are more dependent on some narrowly chosen subject than magazines - their subject matter, as a rule, is much broader than, for example, “Gadgets for Geeks”
Constructive suggestion:
Those who are not happy with what Habr turns into (and I don’t really like it myself), if you feel strong in yourself, create a moderated blog-magazine. Feel yourself an editor - publish in your blog only the best articles on the topics that you want, attract the most interesting authors and journalists from Habr to your blog.
People who will be interested in your blog will subscribe to it and if pops on the main Habr to the end, they will read mostly your blog. Also, it is possible that there will be some competition - perhaps this will improve the quality of the content.
This is just a suggestion. Just a suggestion
experiment (!) .
Let's discuss.
