Microsoft has released the first major update for Windows 10.

Microsoft is quite quiet and without any hype released the first large update for Windows 10 ( KB3081424 ). The update does not belong to the type of security, but specializes in fixing various flaws in the OS. For the 64-bit version of Windows 10, the update size is about 325MB. Remarkable is the fact that MS has reworked the format of its articles about the released updates for Windows 10 and now it does not publish there, in fact, no information about the released patch.

The update itself ( Cumulative Update for Windows 10: August 5, 2015 ) is aimed at fixing various system files, including drivers. A complete list of files to be fixed is given in article KB3081424, however, it remains only to guess about its purpose.

Windows 10 contains a special setting that allows a computer running this OS to exchange updates with other computers on the global network (!). Instead of connecting directly to the MS server for an update, the computer can access other computers running Windows 10 on the network and get updates from there. To disable this feature, go to "Settings-> Update and Security-> Windows Update-> Advanced Options-> Select how and when to receive updates."

Unlike previous versions of Windows, on Windows 10, the user cannot refuse to install updates; such a setting in the OS simply does not exist. The user can only select the options for the OS restart time after their installation. However, in Windows 10 there is a function to remove already installed updates.
