The next version of Microsoft's OS - Windows 7 - will be based on the modified Windows Vista kernel, and not on the new MinWin mini kernel. This was announced not so long ago by the head of the Windows development department Steven Sinofsky. He also mentioned earlier that in the new OS there will be a whole heap of new functions (who would doubt). Just a few hours ago, this (during All Things Digital Live) was clearly confirmed by Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.
The main feature of Windows 7 (and the reason for the last presentation) is the implementation of support for touch screens with the multi-touch function, which was first demonstrated by Microsoft in their Surface Table. During the presentation, Microsoft representatives showed how, using multi-touch, playing the digital piano, working with maps Live Maps, Virtual Earth, as well as easily moving Maltese icons and resizing photos.
The Redmond team, however, said that the multi-touch capabilities shown were not the “final” at all. Windows 7 benefits remain for at least 18 months, so everything can be redrawn and redone. ')
