Despite the vacation time, we continue to work on the browser, albeit in an abbreviated format. Today's build Vivaldi 1.0.231.3 will delight you with some new features, as well as a list of bug fixes.

There were many complaints from users about the inability to move the browser window using the free space on the tab bar. Well, we are always happy to meet your wishes - now we have added this opportunity. True, it was necessary to abandon another popular feature - creating a new tab by clicking the middle mouse button on the tab bar. But this is a temporary inconvenience . We will definitely come up with a way to return this convenient function.

Another popular query was about turning off the narrow band above the tabs. It is designed so that you can move the browser window, even if the entire tab bar is occupied by open pages. In previous builds, we added the ability to disable this bar above tabs, but this was due to the rejection of tab grouping. Today we are pleased to announce a new solution: we have divided these settings, so now you can turn off the bar at the top, but you still have the option of grouping tabs:


Address bar

Another long-requested feature is also presented in the new assembly. We added the display of site icons in the drop-down list of the address bar:


But due to the fact that the development process is proceeding gradually and not all the “little things” can be fixed quickly, you should be warned that icons of only those sites that you have visited before will be displayed. The same applies to the default bookmarks.

Spatial navigation and other little things

We also continued to work on improving spatial navigation, improved the work of the installer for Windows, corrected some errors in the operation of key combinations. A complete list of changes can be found at the end of the article.
