This site prompted me to think that it would be great to be able to create similar wallpapers on my own, be able to move a photo, change the scale.

This is how Topia was born.
The first prototype was made in 5 minutes in marvel-app
It was assumed that the application will be done in a couple of hours, but in the end, the development took almost a month. The interface was reworked and decided to still draw the buttons, instead of the hardkey combination of buttons.
Then the site was created. Here, too, had to work hard. And from a simple version, an adaptive one was born, then an iPhone blue panel effect was made using a pyramid filter on WebGL (using the glfx.js library)
And now you can look at the application itself in the App Store
All images are taken from the official account of the European Space Agency in flickr using the Flickr API. Therefore, we have not yet learned to remove low-quality images. But, fortunately, there are not many of them.
With the help of the application, you can create a wallpaper size to fit your screen, be it an iphone 4s or 6 plus. Unfortunately, ios does not allow to drive wallpaper on the phone, so the pictures are saved to you to the gallery, where they can already be installed.
