For three days, from this Thursday to Saturday, we (euroshow and voximplant with the support of ibecom) will organize a first-of-its-kind event for developers. In preparation for the Saturday concert, we bury, hang on trees and install more than 100 iBeacon beacons - and give you the opportunity to participate in debugging your software in this area! Well, or just walk around with iBeacon-compatible programs, chat with our engineers and look at the construction of the scene. Details under the cut.
We conduct such large-scale testing primarily for ourselves. Our goal is to understand how iBeacon beacons work in difficult conditions: over large areas, surrounded by metal structures, with a large gathering of people at concerts. The technology is young, and besides using it to make money, we are interested in promoting it and forming a community of developers. Coming to the mall, I want to see an interactive map with a search in my phone. Yourself on this map. And the voximplant button “call this store with one click”, hiding my phone number from annoying ads.

To make all this happen in the foreseeable future, we invite everyone to test this iBeacon. For three days, ibecom engineers will answer your questions (on Thursday personally, on Friday and Saturday on slack and skype), dig up and bury beacons, help you set them up and conduct inhuman experiments on them. Also on Thursday from 15 to 19 there will be a special ibecom for the API on the site, which you can ask your tricky and not-so-face-to-face questions. We are ready to implement your ideas on the placement of beacons - within reason, of course.
We also take on a large tent in case of rain, sockets for your laptops, wifi, tea, coffee and pizza at lunch. From you - just
register on the timepad, so that we can estimate the required amount of coffee and pizza :). There is also a detailed description of the event and a map. Come - it will be really interesting! Especially on the third day, when the concert begins and you will have a unique opportunity to look at the work of iBeacon with a really big crowd of people.
