How computers stack numbers

We in Hexlet love to develop not only applied courses, but also more fundamental ones (for example, about algorithms or operating systems). But we have not yet descended below the level of the OS in the hierarchy of abstractions. And there, inside, so many interesting things! For many people, and even for many professional programmers, the processes occurring inside the microprocessor, at the level of individual transistors, remain a mystery.

We publish a translation of a wonderful video, which in less than 15 minutes explains how computers add numbers with the help of transistors, a binary number system, simple logic circuits, and their clever combinations.

PS At the beginning of the video, the north bridge is mistakenly called the processor.
